Cubs Fever

Greetings from Chicago, home of the Cubs! There is such a high energy and level of excitement circulating throughout the Chicagoland area! All Chicago fans, even White Sox fans, are rooting for the Cubs as game one of the World Series is tonight! Barack Obama, a famous White Sox fan, even has caught Cubs fever! He tweeted his support for the Cubs a few days ago! It is so great to be part of such a historical moment in Chicago. For those of you that do not know, the Chicago Cubs have not played in the World Series since 1945, and have not won the World Series since 1908! To say that there is a lot riding on these games would be the understatement of the century…literally!! This post is dedicated to this exciting moment in Chicago! It is very inspiring and teaches us to never say never! Go Cubs!

City Stroll

I hope this week has been a stroll in the park for all of you! This post features a look that I find perfect for a stroll in the city! Whenever I am in the city, (Chicago), I add some extra flair to my look, something unexpected but still chic! My vibrant floral scarf wrapped around my shoulders added color and texture to this look. It also “tied” together the accessories in this look. Shades in this scarf matched perfectly with my earrings and lipstick! The scarf was tied in a way to not hide the gorgeous collar and buttons on my jacket. My gold collar necklace added a modern element to keep this look young and fresh. The denim was key to make this outfit casual, and the pumps were the perfect unexpected pop of color, also a great feminine touch. I would like to thank the trees for accentuating the subtle yellow accents in my scarf! 🙂

It is October in Chicago… One day it is brisk, total sweater weather, the next, it feels like we slipped back into summer! Today it is 80 degrees! As much as I love summer, fall is my absolute favorite season! On these warm Autumn days, I dress in a way that is weather appropriate, yet still reminds me that it is fall, despite what the weather is telling us! The top featured in this post is perfect for days like today! It is a tank, so very cool, and easily used as a layering piece, while the color speaks to my Fall-loving heart. 😉 It is the perfect Autumnal shade of rust, or as I prefer to call this shade, Pumpkin Spice! (Spice-inspired colors are some of my favorite shades to wear throughout the Fall.) This jacket has subtle shades of rust which are accented when worn in combination with this top. My shoes add a pop of teal for a playful, colorful pop! My tip of the day: Play up the colors in the subtle details of your outfit for a very interesting and cohesive look! It is super easy and very fun! Don’t let Monday get you down! Fresh week, fresh start! 🙂

If your outfit was an emoji, which one would it be? I know this is an odd question, but when I put on the outfit featured in today’s post, I could not stop thinking of the peace sign emoji!! This emoji is cool and effortless, with a slight attitude, (the good kind of attitude), which matches the way I feel in this look!  😉  I love how what you wear can really impact the way you feel! What is your look of the day’s emoji??If you like this post, share it on social media with your emoji of the day! =) Until next time…
