Two trends that are here to stay for the year 2017 are fashion sneakers and the ever so feminine, ruffle trend! Both trends are ones that I adore and have incorporated into today’s outfit post. Sneakers come in all prints and fabrics these days making it very easy to incorporate them into almost any look! Pairing sneakers with a dress like the one in this post makes the perfect daytime look with that added “cool” factor. The next trend, the ruffle trend, really speaks to the times! As we all know, women are definitely having a moment! Women have never been so strong, powerful, united, and empowered! Ruffles embrace the beauty of femininity and what could be more on trend than that?? What trends are you embracing so far in 2017?
P.S. I heard about this gorgeous blue backdrop thanks to Jennifer Lake of Style Charade. She is a fellow personal style blogger. She has gorgeous, whimsical photos and you should definitely check out her site and follow her on Instagram- I do! @JenniferLake is her Instagram handle. On her site, Style Charade, there is a section called WallCharades in which she provides a guide to Chicago’s street art. For anybody based in Los Angeles, there is a guide for L.A. street art too!

Everybody is all about making a statement nowadays, so why not make your own statement with your look! These Sam Edelman booties do ALL the talking…These showstopping shoes are gorgeous and versatile. It has been a long time since a pair of shoes have stopped me in my tracks the way these ones did! These shoes take your look and confidence to that next level. I actually gifted these shoes to my sister for Christmas, but with sisters, a gift for them is a gift for me too! 😉 What statement do you wish to make?
Coat:Badgley Mischka / Jeans:Gap (newest version) / Shoes:Renvy from Gilt / Earrings:Baublebar /
Hi everyone! The Badgley Mischka coat featured in this post is my new favorite! I recently purchased this little black coat from Rue La La, and it has been making going out and braving the cold exciting again! Typically this is the time of year in which getting bundled up gets old because the routine of wearing the same layers day after cold day is too monotonous. ((ENTER NEW COAT)) Faux fur coats are trending right now and lucky for us, they are extremely warm and chic! I had been eyeing coats similar to the one featured in this post for quite some time now but the added texture and leather details of this one made it irresistible and impossible to pass up. Plus, it reminds me of a coat that my mom has that was passed down to her from her mom, Ruthie, lovingly known as Ma. Both of the coats share the unique texture of the fur. Ma’s coat was the last big item that she purchased before she was married. After she was married she had 1,2,3,4….8 kids in 11 years! While her life did change shortly after buying her little black coat, her elegant beauty and style never have! xoxo

Happy 2017! My 2 month absence from my site was totally unexpected, and I am thrilled to be back at it again! A LOT has changed! I attended the Simply Stylist Conference in New York which was the best thing I have done since starting this site. I met a ton of like-minded people who share my obsession for fashion and style. It was a perfect event for networking with other people in the industry. I left feeling connected and inspired. A few days after my return, we moved to a new home in the town where I grew up just days before my son, Killian’s, birthday. We are still getting settled but are very happy with the move! Killian had his golden birthday, 4! The holidays were a whirlwind, of course. Family members visited from Texas and New York, and we had parties almost every day! Now that the New Year’s confetti is settling and the pieces of my life are all falling into place it is time to get back to Girl With All the Curls. I am extremely honored to have you here, reading this! Thank you! I am going to be posting consistently again. Stay tuned to see what I have in store for 2017!
