Here are the scoops…
1. Consider ice cream an accessory on hot summer days!
2. T-shirts can be chic too! I love the Kate Spade one featured in this post because it is far from plain and has a fun attitude with the “Queen Bee” message on it. Kate Spade has a ton of cute T-shirts to choose from!
3. Want to change up the look of a T-Shirt? Tie a side knot, that’ll do the trick!
4. Pair your favorite T-shirt with shorts that have details! The faux leather ones in this post add texture while looking feminine with the scalloped hem and cut-out details. Shorts come in all sorts of colors and patterns now, some with embroidered detailing too! Have fun and happy shopping!

There is no better remedy for any ailment than some warm, beautiful sunshine! I am back, for real this time, and ready for a fun, stylish summer! Let’s crank up the heat this summer with vibrant colors and patterns. Summer is a time to let loose and take chances. The dress in this post is one of those pieces that struck me the moment I walked into J. crew. The second I saw it hanging front and center in the store, I knew that there was no chance I would be leaving without it. The pattern is so cheery and the fabric is luxurious, (from Como, Italy). While some people might suggest keeping all other elements in this look neutral since the pattern is loud and a statement maker, I say, “Let’s pack a punch!” Bold accessories, like these Ray-Bans, do just that. Let’s make a pact to be bright, bold, and beautiful together this summer! Cheers to sun and style-filled summer!
In sickness and in health my extended and immediate family have been an extraordinary support system, and I would like to thank all of them and you for reading this! One week ago tomorrow, I had surgery to remove my gallbladder. The healing process has, thus far, gone as smoothly as one could hope for. I am very lucky. Lucky to have such a great system of love and support. Without all of the selfless help I have received, I would not be nearly as recovered as I am today. In just a short period of time I will be totally back to being myself again! The video I have posted is a video made by my two little kids, Killian (3), and Nora (9 months). It was beautifully directed by my sister, Bridget! Bridget is also my amazing photographer! 😉I hope this video adds as much brightness to your day as is does to mine!

There is something so clean and perfect about dresses in any shade of white. They have such a soft elegance about them that really appeals to me. I love to wear dresses in ivory hues, especially in the summer months. Since it is currently wedding season, this can cause quite the dilemma. 😊 white cannot be worn to a wedding, unless you are the bride, of course! So, I opt for white dresses that can be worn in a variety of ways and to different occasions. Dresses such as the one in this post can be dressed up for a night out or worn with flats or sandals for an everyday look! The gold Elorie flats accentuate the gold details in my purse perfectly. Meanwhile, the floral cuff adds a pop of color to this outfit while bringing out the same hues in the delicate details of my purse, a match made in heaven! White is flattering on all skin tones and is the perfect “blank canvas” to style an outfit that most speaks to you! Happy wedding season to all of you beautiful brides out there!!

Hello darlings! It has been way too long since my last post! Life has been a little crazy recently. Long story short, some stomach issues that I had a few years ago came back and I ended up in the emergency room. Needless to say, I haven’t had as much time or energy to spend planning outfits this past week. I always have outfits on hand that are very easy and comfortable that do not compromise the style component. The romper in this post is something that I wore a few times this week. The floral print, ruffle details, bell sleeves, and tie at the waist all make it very feminine, which I love! It is also very comfortable which is something that was key in all of my outfits this past week. I have learned that when life throws a wrench in your plans it is best to work it! Wearing clothing that I love makes me feel like myself and gives me confidence. Even when we stay home, I dress in the way that makes me happiest on that day! This little “one and done” piece can be dressed up or down, depending on the occasion. I hope you all are having a great long weekend! Thank you so much for stopping by! Enjoy the summer weather! Xoxo

Let’s talk trending lace on this lovely Tuesday. Along with stripes and the colors black and navy, lace belongs to a rare breed in fashion with elements of style that are never considered “out of style”. Definitely a classic, lace has been around forever and isn’t going away anytime soon, thankfully! Even though a classic, lace is definitely trending for spring and summer. As a lover of feminine style, I am completely lace obsessed! One of my favorite outfit pairings is the one pictured in this post! The lace in the skirt and the top go together so perfectly that a lot of people think I am wearing a dress! This skirt is one of my favorite pieces. It was also featured in my first post, The park after dark. In this latest look, the lace on lace combination makes me feel fancy and feminine, like a lady in lace.

…it’s Friday!! Whenever I struggle with anything in life, big or small, I do my best to look on the bright side. This week has been a rough one. My 8 month old daughter, Nora, is teething and it is hard to see her suffer, but on the bright side, she is one of the greatest blessings in my life and her personality is so fun and playful! My three year old son, Killian, has been refusing to use the potty on his own this week and has thrown plenty of tantrums about it…all week. On the bright side, he has a heart of gold and he makes me laugh every single day. I tend to dress in bold colors and vibrant prints most of the time because I am drawn to them, but they also put a little pep back in my step if I need it! Try it! It is amazing what it can do for your spirit, whether it is just a pop of color like bright pink lipstick or a bright ensemble like the one pictured here, the power of color is amazing! A bright top paired with white jeans is all the rage this spring. Add a leopard accent like the shoes I chose for this post to serve as a not so typical neutral. Have a great day and weekend!

As famously sung by the one and only Taylor Swift, “I’ve got that red lip classic thing that you like”. While I was getting ready to post these pictures, I could not get those lyrics from Taylor’s song, “Style”, out of my head! As We all know, that girl can rock a red lip. Her classic style is undoubtedly sought after by her infinite number of fans. This outfit was not originally inspired by T. Swift, but I do think that this look is definitely something She would approve of. The grid print skirt and the striped Floppy hat work together to add a little flair to this classic black and white ensemble. The delicate lace on the top adds texture in a feminine way, while The red lip works harmoniously with the red soles to tie it all together! Enjoy this classic black and white, print on print look while I rock out to “Style”.

Jackets are a must for spring! It is so easy to get ahead of ourselves and want to ditch our jackets altogether after the weather hits almost 80 degrees once or twice and pull out our summer apparel. Don’t ditch your spring clothes yet! A jacket can add so much personality to an outfit! On cooler spring days like today, I tend to opt for a stylish jacket that I love and piece together the rest of my outfit together around it. This bomber jacket is wonderful because it can be worn in spring with white denim, or during fall with darker jeans and boots! The floral embellishments and mirrored beading on this jacket make it stand out, especially when the sun reflects off of it. These mirrored sunglasses bring out the jacket’s refelectiveness while making a statement all on their own! They also come in handy when you need a mirror to get your lipstick! 😀 Happy sunny Sunday!

Spring has definitely sprung! In Chicago, it has been raining for the past few days, which can only mean one thing….Hunter boots! I love these rain boots because they are practical AND stylish at the same time. Anyone who knows me very well knows that I will always put practicality after style. 😆 These black boots are great because they match with everything! There is such a wide selection of colors available too. I am considering purchasing a pair of the pink ones to brighten up a rainy day! 😊 This entire outfit is very comfortable and versatile! It makes me feel like I am at a picnic. I might just plan a picnic so that I can wear this outfit! I’ll let you in on a little secret, sometimes, I plan events so that I can wear certain outfits or items! 🙂 Happy (almost) weekend!
